This is a comprehensive list so our fellow neighbors in the community know the bests and most affordable places to dump in the Hamilton, Burlington, and Oakville neighborhoods. If you need help saying goodbye to your junk we are always here to help!
1) Mini Millennium Disposal Services – Oakville
2440 Beryl Road, Oakville
Monday 7 a.m.–5 p.m. Tuesday 7 a.m.–5 p.m. Wednesday 7 a.m.–5 p.m. Thursday 7 a.m.–5 p.m. Friday 7 a.m.–5 p.m. Saturday 7 a.m.–12 p.m. Sunday Closed
This Waste Management Facility has a fairly high minimum at around $60 but after that, there isn’t a dump in the region that will let you dump large amounts of weight for such reasonable prices.
Also allows a quick and easy dumping atmosphere with no separating and simply dumping your trailer or hand bombing into a pile.
2) Community Recycling Center -Dundas
Monday 8 a.m.–6 p.m. Tuesday 8 a.m.–6 p.m. Wednesday 8 a.m.–6 p.m. Thursday 8 a.m.–6 p.m. Friday 8 a.m.–6 p.m. Saturday 8 a.m.–6 p.m. Sunday
This Waste Management Facility allows you to drop off paint, cardboard, metals, and other items without charge. Come into the facility take a right turn and you will see the buckets you can place items into without needing to scale in. In addition to this, they have a scale in section which is very affordable. The scale section might be large truck loads only though.
3) York 1 Trasfer Station Gage – Hamilton
375 Gage Ave N, Hamilton, ON L8L 7B1
Monday 7 a.m.–4:50 p.m. Tuesday 7 a.m.–4:50 p.m. Wednesday 7 a.m.–4:50 p.m. Thursday 7 a.m.–4:50 p.m. Friday 7 a.m.–4:50 p.m. Saturday 7 a.m.–12:50 p.m. SundayClosed
The York 1 Transfer station has a low minimum of $15 and a reasonable per tonne price. Easy to offload your trash by simply throwing it into a pile out the back of your vehicle. No sorting is necessary and a very accessible scale in and scale out. Sadly, they do not provide cash options though and everyone needs to pay via card.
4) Walker Waste and Recycling Drop Off – Burlington
Monday 6 a.m.–6 p.m. Tuesday 6 a.m.–6 p.m. Wednesday 6 a.m.–6 p.m. Thursday 6 a.m.–6 p.m. Friday 6 a.m.–6 p.m. Saturday 9 a.m.–1 p.m. Sunday Closed
This dump is compared to the others extremely expensive. Additionally, unless you are not a large-scale dump truck you will have to throw all of your trash over a railing which causes some complexity in dumping your items and will take a little longer than other options. However, the employees at this location are AMAZING. The ladies in the booth are always a ray of sunshine and the employees in the dump are always helpful and willing to bring a laugh to your day. Additionally, no cash options available everyone will need to pay via card.
5) Halton Waste Management Site – Milton
Monday 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Tuesday 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Wednesday 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Thursday 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Friday 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Saturday 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Sunday Closed
For small local drop-offs, some people can get in and out with a cheap $10 minimum. This would include a couple of bags of garbage if you aren’t willing to wait until your local door to door pickup. However, if you are looking to dispose of a large quantity of items it becomes quite costly at this transfer station with their high per tonne rates. Users will also need to separate all of their items. Therefore, if you have a large assortment of items (Cardboard, trash, wood, etc.) you will be there for a long time separating each item into their specific bin.
